Greetings,
My name is Scott, and I'm nearly 61 years old and I had double
hernia surgery on the 23rd of March.
Given my current financial and insurance situation, my funding will be shy of what I need for the deductible and time away from work, in the best-case scenario of being out of work for one week. If my recovery is longer than that, things will be beyond tight and are very likely to cascade from bills being due that I won't be able to cover.
Yep, I'm one of those folks one medical procedure away from financial hardship.
So, here I am. It's not a place I would ever want anyone to be, but I have to try what options there are.
I'm hoping to raise enough money to just cover the deductible and bills like groceries and utilities for a portion of the month following surgery.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, regardless of a contribution to my particular GoFundMe.
I know it’s a cliche to say “any amount counts” but it’s true.
If this fundraiser only garners $100, that helps with a good chunk of groceries for the one week downtime this is going to cause.
$300 total raised would take the worry of utilities off the list.
$400 takes a car payment off the month and frees up money for the above worries.
So, every little bit does help.
