Thank you to everyone who donated and sent Svetlana and the family messages of condolences and support.

My wife and I along with other friends have been at their side the entire time to help deal with the pain and loss. We have seen the outpouring of love for Alex and for them. Their family is only making the initial steps towards transitioning to a life that is now missing their husband and father, Alex. They have a long way to go.

I've never organized a GoFundMe. I didn't know what target to set, but I went big thinking that they would need lots of help financially in addition to the emotional support being provided. The quantity and size of the donations was so impressive. Most people left their names when they donated, but some wanted it to be anonymous. I tried to send a thank you to everyone, but if for some reason you didn't receive it... please, let me thank you again here on Svetlana's behalf. She truly appreciates all of you.

I'm going to leave the GoFundMe active for the rest of the year. All immediate financial matters related to Alex's passing have been taken care of. There were still thousands of dollars left that Svetlana will use to help bridge the gap as she takes over as a sole provider. She will also work hard to continue his Cultured Adventurer business and the donated funds may also be used to help her take over those reins. It was his passion and she will keep it alive.

Alex was an awesome, kind, loving person and a great friend. I remember him as the leader of many hikes we took together. He lead well while on earth and I know he's on a good path now. He's just up around the bend...
