Arlo’s Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
On 11/6 our big guy was rushed into emergency surgery for GDV, canine bloat that results in the stomach twisting and death of stomach and surrounding tissue. We were lucky to catch it early. He did need his spleen to be removed and a significant amount of stomach tissue - he was up and down the first few days after surgery with some complications following, but thanks to the team of vets who provided him with excellent care we are happy to say he is expected to make a full recovery!
He is now home, relaxing in bed most of the time and trying to get used to his cone of shame.
We made the decision to go for surgery because Arlo is family - and it just wasn’t his time to go yet.
We are prepared to work our butts off to cover the expenses but as a family of 4 with two little ones, we are already feeling the pressure of this unexpected situation.
Any contributions to Arlo’s veterinary care would be so greatly appreciated.
**he wants you to know he is also accepting virtual pets and scratches **
