Many of you  have seen my posts about the Gering's car accident that happened on Saturday, August 15th.  Ron almost lost his life and by some miracle, he is alive and at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh.
Ron's diaphram was severed, which allowed his liver to be pushed through into his right lung.  This caused breathing restrictions so he was intubated and has been on a ventilator since he arrived at the hospital.  Ron's colon and small intestine had holes, so they removed a section of each and sewed them shut.  His chest and pelvis were crushed, which caused his pelvis to break. Fortunately, Ron survived amazingly without head trauma, spinal injury or broken bones in arms and legs. He is strong and I have no doubt he will heal in time.

His son Trey, also was injured in the accident and has 2 broken femurs.

The Gering's have a long road ahead of them.   Ron and Christina have 4 children. Trey (15), Zippy (12), Tristan (3) and Thoren (18 months).  Between, Ron being out of work, which looks like it will be a long time, if not, permanently , Christina by his side and not able to go back to work yet, medical bills , and having someone to care for their little ones, they are going to need help.

Please help the Gering family through this horrific time.

Thank you,
Kerry Geraghty

UPDATE:
August 17, 2015
Ron will be having surgery soon which will allow the surgeons to insert a pin in his pelvis. He will hopefully be off the ventilator by Wednesday, but no promises.

Trey is doing better and will hopefully be able to play hockey again.
