Chaparral High School Robotics Team

Hi Friends, family, and community members!
Chaparral’s Firebird Robotics Team 3019 recently qualified to compete at the World Championship in St. Louis. This will be the first time Chaparral has competed in the World Championship! The championship begins on April 27th so we have very limited time to raise funds and plan this trip. At this point, we are estimating up to $800.00 per flight, per team member. We are also looking at expensive lodging costs and the cost of food. NASA has sponsored our $5,000.00 registration fee. We have limited club funds to help cover the trip as we did not budget for this. As of right now, each family of the 16 team members who are attending are contributing $750.00 plus the cost of food for their child. This expensive contribution will not be enough to cover the trip. Please consider donating to make this competition a reality for our ever deserving students! If we raise enough funds, we will also be able to refund some of the money paid by families! Thank you in advance!
Here is some information on the award that Chaparral’s team won:
Engineering Inspiration Award
Celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community.
To give some scope of what the FIRST Championship will entail is a great deal of information. This is best represented by this following link: http://www.firstchampionship.org/welcome#block-block-52 . Please take a look at the overall FIRST Championship Site (http://www.firstchampionship.org/). Please take note what opportunity FIRST offers our students. Our students have had several get great internships with companies they may actually work for after college.
