The Makassed Hospital - Neonatal Ward
Donation protected
Assalamu Alaykum everyone! The University Of Surrey Islamic Society has pledged to raise £5000 for the Makassed Islamic Charitable Hospital in East Jerusalem. The money raised will help fund new incubators in the Neonatal Ward insha'Allah, which will give many innocent children a chance to live.
Recently, dozens of hospitals, primary healthcare facilities, and ambulances have been destroyed in Gaza alone, and there are many more damaged healthcare facilities littered across Palestine. Because of this, now more than ever, the people of Palestine need quality medical services.
Penny Appeal is supporting the Makassed Islamic Charitable Hospital, which is the largest Palestinian non-profit, non-governmental organisation.
Founded in 1968, Makassed was a small community hospital, with minimal departments and a very limited number of beds. From its humble beginnings, Makassed has grown into the leading medical centre in Palestine, equipped with 250 beds and over a dozen different wards. It now even provides accommodation for patients and their relatives from the Gaza strip for whom getting to the hospital is especially difficult.
The Makassed Hospital is the only Palestinian healthcare facility providing access to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which Penny Appeal is helping to expand. Donate now, and help Penny Appeal provide these vital healthcare services for the people of Palestine!
