Help Maurice Recover

Little 5 year old Maurice was in a catastrophic car accident late February causing severe internal bleeding, brain and head injuries, broken ribs, collapsed lungs and a broken arm. After being worked on at the scene the paramedics decided to put him in a coma with fear he would not make it to the hospital. Rushed to Queensland children’s hospital he went into an 8hr surgery, they removed parts of his intestine, colon, and attempted to fix the internal bleeding also finding his kidney was dead. After amazingly surviving the extensive surgery he was put on life support and stayed in the ICU for two weeks hooked up to tubes and unaware of what had happened.   

With his family by his side he has woken up and slowly started the road to recovery however it will be a long one.  

Maurice brings to much light to the world and everyone around him, everyone who knows him knows that he is always smiling, playing sports and always running around happy. He truly is such a vibrant young child. Still through this time has been so strong and kept a smile on his face. 

We are hoping for a good recovery however this is not the end considering his injuries with the possibility of having to remove his dead kidney and rehab. 

Whilst money will not take the pain away for him our hope is to take the burden off his father who has stayed by his side every day and ability to work has been significantly affected. To relieve the stress of future medical bills, medication, potential surgeries and rehab.
