Our sweet baby Baylor is even more special than we ever realized. We are turning to the love and support of others as his family navigates an overwhelming and unexpected journey.
A few days ago, Baylor’s mom noticed some unusual movements and sent a video to their primary care provider just to be safe. What started as a “Maybe I’m overreacting…” moment quickly became a “Thank God you trusted your mom gut” moment.
After imaging and early evaluations, doctors have strongly indicated that Baylor has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC)—a rare genetic disorder that can cause tumors to grow in various organs. Baylor currently has confirmed tumors in his brain and heart, and additional testing is underway to determine if there are others elsewhere in his body.
The family is waiting for official genetic testing results, but they are already meeting with specialists, beginning medications, and preparing for what will likely be a long road ahead. They are in the very earliest stages of this diagnosis, and there are still so many unknowns.
But the reality is this journey will be expensive, emotional, and ongoing. With their recent move to northern North Dakota for Baylor’s dad’s job, their closest relatives are 8 hours away. Doctor visits will be 2.5 hour and 3.5 hour trips one way and last up to days at a time. If you are able to do so, donations will go towards medical bills, medications and future treatments, travel and food costs, and financial relief for the family as they focus on Baylor’s health.
Thank you for taking the time to read Baylor’s story and for supporting him in any way you can, whether through giving, sharing this page, or keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. The road ahead is uncertain, but Baylor is strong, and so is the love family and friends have for him and his family.
