Ricky Speers Cancer Fund

Hi, my name is Ricky Speers. I am 39  years old, and the father of two gorgeous daughters ages 12 and 13, they are my world! I have been lucky enough to have a beautiful girlfriend who has stuck by me through so much, she is my rock, and her two gorgeous daughters whom I love as my own. I was a chef for 20 years and I loved every single minute of it. In 2011 I was diagnosed with colon cancer, they resected a large part of my colon and I had 6 months of chemotherapy. I got back on my feet, went back to work, and was begining to put my life back together when in 2014 I was yet again diagnosed with cancer. This time a completely different colorectal cancer. I underwent more months of chemotherapy, and radiation. I lost 130 lbs, I weighed a whole 115 lbs and I was afraid I was going to die before surgery. I had surgery in October 2014 which they removed my colon, bladder, prostate, and part of my rectum, followed by another 6 months of chemotherapy. I have learned to live with two ostomies over the last year, it's been a big adjustment, but one well worth still having my life. I began hurting and getting sick again in September 2015, so the oncologist ordered a PET scan. The results were devastating. The mass is back in my rectum and it has moved into the lymph nodes in my chest. I have started yet another round of chemotherapy in hopes to extend the length and quality of time I have left. I hope to use any funds raised to help with taking care of me and my family. At best I can use the money to help with paying bills and supporting my family through all of this. If it doesnt look well for me I will use the money to help my family with my funeral expenses. My life is a great life, and I have made the best of it. I have been rewarded in so many ways. But, as a father I know I need to provide for my family. I cant work and provide like I could before so im asking for help. I would be very thankful for any support for me and my family.
