Mobility Scooter to help me obtain some freedom

Hello, my name is Debi.
I’m 53 years old and, at the moment, I’m permanently housebound due to severe osteoarthritis in my left knee, which is now bone on bone. Walking is painful and difficult, and getting out and about has become almost impossible without help.
Until May 2025, I was still managing to get out occasionally with my partner, but sadly he passed away. Since losing him, I haven’t really been able to leave the house. Alongside the physical pain, my confidence and anxiety have made it even harder to step back into the world on my own.
I’m hoping to raise funds for a mobility scooter, which would give me something I haven’t had for a long time — a bit of independence again.
With a scooter, I could visit our local Central Park, enjoy some fresh air, and maybe even, when I feel brave enough, make my way to the local leisure centre. Just being able to get out of the house, see people, and feel part of the world again would mean more than I can say, especially as we head into the summer months.
Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing my story, would mean the world to me and help me take those first steps — or wheels — back into life outside my front door.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any help you’re able to give.
With gratitude,
Debi xx
