First off, thank you for taking the time to read this story and share it.
My dear friend Emily Ervin was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this past month at the age of 36. If you have ever visited the Grove City , Ohio Target, then hopefully you were lucky enough to encounter Emily.
Emily is the kind of person who's smile lights up a room. She is sweet, smart, funny, strong, thoughtful and one of the strongest people I've ever met.
When Emily told me about her diagnosis, I instantly told her I wanted to start this GoFundMe Page for her. In typical Emily fashion she replied "Oh no, there are other people that need help more than me".
This is the kind of person Emily is. She is ALWAYS putting others before herself. Now I'm asking that we all come together, and put Emily before ourselves.
If you know Emily, then you know that she is a fighter. The road ahead will not be easy, but she will get through it with the love and support of her friends and family.
Emily will be having surgery on May 30th, 2019 to remove the cancerous tumor and four lymph nodes to test and make sure that the cancer hasn't spread. Once Emily heals from the surgery, she will have to undergo radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks.
Emily's job duties are very demanding, and therefore she will have to be on Short-Term Disability, which unfortunately will only provide 60% of her normal pay. On top of that, her medical bills have already started to pile up, and will just increase leading up to her surgery.
Emily is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support to anyone who needs it. She has helped countless guests and co workers in her 11 years at Target.
Now, I'm asking that we all give back some of that love and support to Emily. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help is what is most important so she can focus on beating her cancer. Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
