My name is Selina and I am the proud mum of Savannah, my beautiful, brave 16-year-old daughter. I never imagined I'd be writing these words, but we are now facing a journey no family should ever have to take.
Back in the spring, Savannah was preparing for her GCSEs, trying on prom dresses, and making plans with her friends to celebrate the end of school. She was doing all the things a 16-year-old should. Then, everything changed.
Savannah began experiencing worrying symptoms, and after a series of hospital visits and tests, we were given the devastating news: Savannah has a Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), an aggressive and incurable type of brain cancer.
Overnight, our family's world was turned upside down.
Since her diagnosis, Savannah has faced each day with strength and courage, but life is now filled with appointments, treatments, and uncertainty, instead of the simple joys of being a teenager.
Savannah is thoughtful and kind. She adores her sister, and we are just a normal family.
She loves fashion, nails, music, and spending time with her friends, she just wants to be like any other teenager.
We want to give her the chance to keep living her life to the fullest, surrounded by love and joy. That means creating special moments, making memories together, and exploring every possible medical avenue that could bring some hope.
This fundraiser will help us with:
- Making memories: Trips, days out, and experiences that will bring Savannah happiness and give us treasured family time together.
- Practical costs: Travel to hospital, medical expenses, and the many unexpected costs that come with this journey.
We cannot change Savannah's diagnosis, but with your help, we can make sure her no stone is left unturned with regard to any treatment and clinical trial we can access.
Please, if you are able, donate to support Savannah and share this page far and wide. Every contribution, no matter how small, means the world to us.
