Hello, to whom it may concern,
My dad recently felt faint while working and asked for help, exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack. He went to the ER, where he was admitted and diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis. He is currently under care and has already undergone multiple surgeries.
Due to his condition, he has experienced dizziness and fainting. His heart is not pumping enough oxygen to the rest of his body. He is now on a machine to help circulate blood and oxygen while he rests. Unfortunately, the doctors report no progress; he has internal bleeding that needs to be stopped with another surgery. His heart is still reliant on the machine.
This past Sunday, My Father passed away.
For a time the doctor gave us many choices, that it seemed he would get better, drastically overnight it got worse, we were left with only two options, heart transplant that was likely going to be rejected or to let him go. We came together as a family, trying to discuss other ways, hoping for a better outcome. Unfortunately we had to come to the hard realization that he will pass away.
8/11/24 at 11:14am My Father passed away from Heart complications. Recently the doctors told us he was born with "Bicuspid aortic Valve". His heart worked tirelessly for 60 years. Recently the past several years he developed severe Aortic Stenosis. A condition that makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood/oxygen to the rest of the body. In an effort to overcome the shortcoming, the heart works harder and harder to give what the body needs. When the doctors first examined his heart, they said it was stronger and thicker than most others. Maybe due to the hearts efforts to keep my father going. In order to give the heart a break and to recover quickly, he was placed on a machine called "ecmo." A machine that helps oxygenate the blood and pumps it throughout the body. When he was placed on this machine, it helped for a little, but quickly his heart severely relied on it. The heart did not want to put in that same effort as it had before. The Doctors replaced the valve, but the heart did not want to pump. The heart was only working below 5% capacity.
My Dad was an amazing father and Friend. He was a Family man and a working man. He supported his family through fire and even had to drown several times to keep his family afloat.
He loved everyone he came across, his boss and his coworkers relied on him and laughed with him. He had amazing friends across all spaces, around work, town, and even next door neighbors.
He went to church when he could, splurge on his dogs that he was taking care of. He always put everyone first besides himself. He was a selfless man, a Good man.
Im sorry to all the people he was close too, It all happened all suddenly. Even being with him in his final moments, It still has not settled. I feel like he will come through that door, smile on his face and ask "how is your day". It is a lot to take in, he was my Dad and my Best buddy for my entire life. I ask of those who helped, friends, or family, Take inspiration from my Dad. He worked harder than anyone else, and was happy talking or spending time with others, especially cuddling with his dogs, Yuki, Yui, Bear, Sheena, Zeus, and Tink. I love you Dad! Thank you to all the people who supported him, Im sure he would be extremely grateful!
