Gorden Family House Fire
Donation protected
On Thursday morning, Jan 21, 2016, the Gorden family experienced a house fire that totally destroyed their home, belongings, one vehicle and damaged another. But that's not all.
Kendall, Ronika, Lamika (14), Makail (8) and Malia (3 months) Gordon are now homeless and struggling.
As horrible as this tragedy is, it is compounded by Ronika who is currently under-going chemo treatments for cancer. Further, the cancer necessitated the early birth of their youngest daughter Malia this past November.
Any life changing event is enough but a house fire, loss of belongings, cancer treatments, a newborn, a husband out of work to care for the family is too much. The saving grace is no one was lost in the fire. But the struggles have just become exponentially worse for this family.
While the Red Cross is helping, the recovery, expenses and the extreme costs of trying to get their lives back to semi-normal will be immense and lengthy.
The family appreciates prayers more than anything but if you find it in your heart to help, a donation would assist with immediate needs of all kinds including food, clothing, toiletries, housing, medicine and hospital expenses. There are so many needs since everything is lost. The family is thankful of any and all gifts.
May God Bless.
