On December 1, 2025, our family faced the kind of heartbreak you can never prepare for. Our beloved Joe Johnson — known to so many as BD — was called home to be with the Lord. Even as we write these words, it still doesn’t feel real. The pain of losing him so suddenly has shaken our family to the core.
Joe was more than a brother — he was a piece of our hearts. He had a spirit that filled the room when he walked in. He had a smile that made you feel like everything was going to be okay. He loved deeply, he cared hard, and he showed up for people in ways most never knew.
Joe had a way of making you feel seen. He didn’t judge, he didn’t turn his back, and even when he had nothing, he would still try to give. He was always the one checking on others, lifting people up, and trying to make sure everyone around him was straight. That was who he was — a protector, a giver, and a true brother in every sense of the word.
But above all else, Joe loved his kids more than anything in this world. They were the reason he kept pushing, the reason he kept fighting through whatever life threw at him. He bragged about them, prayed for them, and wanted nothing but the best for them. His kids were his heart, and anyone who knew him knew that.
Losing Joe has left an emptiness that we can’t describe. The world feels quieter without him. The holidays will feel different. Family gatherings won’t ever be the same. But through our tears and our grief, we hold onto one thing: Joe is finally at peace. He’s in a better place, resting in God’s arms, with no more pain, no more struggle — just love and light.
Because his passing was so unexpected, our family is facing funeral and burial expenses that we simply were not prepared for. We want to give Joe the beautiful, honorable homegoing he deserves — a service that reflects the love he gave so freely to others.
We are humbly asking for support during this difficult time. Any donation, no matter the size, will help us lay Joe to rest with dignity. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. Your prayers, your words, your support — all of it matters more than you know.
Thank you for loving Joe.
Thank you for standing with our family.
And thank you for helping us honor the life of a man whose heart touched so many
