I work from home as a Feature Writer and Editor. It's a job I love very much, and I worked very hard to reach my position with the company I'm at.
I also live in a group home. For those who don't know much about group homes, they can sometimes be a bit... well. Let's just say things can be a bit "rough" in group homes, and there can be problems with other residents as well as with staff.
My current situation happened after a member of the staff tried to stop me in the middle of my workday (I work 9 to 5) to do chores around the house. I tried to explain to her I work 9 to 5, but she didn't like that explanation and tried to grab my laptop away from me.
This caused my laptop to slam into the wall, which in turn caused a fair bit of damage to my laptop.
It is currently still somewhat functional but damaged, and this damage is only growing worse over time.
I will need to buy a new laptop soon to be able to continue my work. And I need to continue working to:
A. Pay Rent.
B. Buy medication for my epilepsy and mental health needs.
C. Eventually, move out of this not-so-great place.
Any help that someone could offer me in this situation would be absolutely amazing. Thank you if you've read this far!
