In need of help after a traumatic accident

Donation protected

If you know us, you have probably already heard of the tragedy we were unfortunately struck with. You've probably seen the fundraisers for both Katie and Sarah who were injured in a freak accident involving a golf cart. Pictured above is Andie, with her friends, just hours before the tragedy that would change their lives. This is Andie's story.

We are a group of friends that were just out celebrating a birthday when all hell broke loose and something straight out of a nightmare happened. We were on a golf cart when it lost control going down a hill and it flipped over. One of our friends was fatally injured. Another is currently in the hospital recovering from a traumatic brain injury. Andie was arrested for being in the driver's seat at the time even though it was an accident and she herself was injured in it as well. She couldn't even walk after the accident and was taken to a hospital and then had to be pushed to the cop car in a wheel chair after. It was very unnecessary and none of her friends involved blame her in any way. They know it was an accident and that she isn't at fault for it. What was supposed to be a fun time shared among good friends has turned into an absolute nightmare for everyone involved. Andie was held in custody for 6 grueling hours, injured in multiple places, barely able to move, and traumatized from the accident, before her friends were finally able to bail her out. She was in no mental or physical state to even be there. This, unfortunately, was just the start of her nightmare.

She now owes an excessive amount of money to the bail bonds people, all over an arrest that was absolutely unnecessary. The law needed someone to blame though, so unfortunately that is all falling on her now. She is in desperate need of legal help ASAP, which is also absurdly costly. She needs therapy. There are medical bills she is fighting with her insurance over. There could possibly be other fines further down the road. Plus the cost to travel to a town 2 hours away for court. The costs just keep piling up and she was already struggling with just trying to put a roof over her head prior to all this. She doesn't know how she'll be able to do it and it is all very daunting right now to have to worry about all this on top of all the terror she has already been put through. She is trying to recover from the trauma of what happened. Trying to process and grieve the loss of a very beloved friend, while also being concerned with the recovery of her other dear friend, while also trying to recover from her own injuries. All while her own life is in danger of being further ripped apart than it already was. It's more than anyone should have to take on all at once.

If you know Andie, then you know she is a very kind and caring person who is deeply devastated and heartbroken over this entire incident. She needs all the help and support she can get right now. The money being asked for will go towards retaining a lawyer (time is of the essence here and she will need $12,000.00 immediately). Funds are also needed to pay back her friend for bailing her out, paying the balance of what she owes bail bonds, medical bills, possibly more lawyer fees depending on what happens. Any left over money will be divided and given to the families of Katie and Sarah to go towards their medical bills. Thank you so much for your consideration towards helping during this very traumatic time.
