Hi, my name is Tabitha and I am a server and are usually scheduled 5 days a week. We were recently closed for almost 2 weeks. And if you know anything about the service industry, it's that if you don't work, you don't make money and don't have paid time off. August 6, Saturday I attended a concert at Brown's island, as a friend had invited me. Later on in the evening, after it had gotten dark,I went to use the restroom in an outdoor facility(porta potty). As I was walking out to accommodate the other guests, I hit a tree stump right infront of it. Upon tripping on stump, my knee locked and I fell down. Unable to move, two other concert goers saw and came to help me up and move me to the grassy area. Emts were called and I was taken to the hospital via ambulance. I was in excruciating pain(as I still am). After the x-ray, I was told i had a lateral tibial plateau fracture and would need surgery. I have to call on monday to schedule an apt for a CT scan to ensure there's no extra damage and to make a surgical plan. I have no idea how long I will be out of work.
