A Wheelchair For Wesley

Three years ago my son Wesley Morris attempted suicide. He was 20. He's has suffered from mental illness since the age of 13 and tho he tried to live a normal life, he wasn't able to. He was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. It has made an impact on his entire life. He tired to be a marine, it was a lifetime dream for him. He enjoyed boot camp and was making a life for himself, but it wasn't to be, once again his mental illness affected his life. My son was a handful and anyone who has a loved one with a mental illness knows, as long as your medicated you can function ( tho this doesn't feel normal to the person).  He was in and out of trouble he had good times and bad times.  My son hung himself August 29, 2013. He now  has an anoxic brain injury. He's non verbal and eats from a tube. I have been trying for three years to get him a wheelchair. He needs a specialized wheelchair called a tilt n space so that he  can come home. I miss my boy, it breaks my heart to see him laying in a bed 24/7. This chair will also help with his cognitive development. He has been laying in a bed for the last 3 years and during his time at home he will get stimulation that he needs at home. The Nursing Home staff have been a god-send to us and have been absolutely wonderful to my son. I feel that they love him as if he's a son of theirs and not just my son. They will be able to use this chair to help him also. It will benefit him in many ways, He will be able to spend time with his family instead of in a bed in front of the television.  A wheelchair is the single best thing anyone could do for him. To get him around his family that loves him and provide him with a better chance to recover and to vastly improve his quality of life.
