Karen Miller Stage 4 Cancer misdiag

Hi,
My name is Karen and I have faced many challenges in my life. I have conquered these challenges and moved on like most people. But now I have just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer squamous carcinoma of the hypopharynx. We are very distressed because my primary care doctor missed this for over a year.
I have been instructed by my new doctors at Emory that I need to begin treatment immediately. Now I must have 35 rounds of proton radiation and 7 rounds of intense chemo Monday throught Friday for 8 weeks. My doctor is telling me I will not be able to work during this time.
Our family has never asked for anything, even when my husband was diagnosed with vascular disease 13 years ago and was unable to work for 2 years; we made it through. We don't go on vacations because they are usually spent at the hospital with my husband.
Our family was again devestated with the 2008 recession when my husband and I both lost our jobs within 6 days of each other. It took us over a year to find jobs but we stayed stong and perservered. We were able to keep our home because we lived off our savings and pension but now it is all gone.
Our only son is getting married on December 31st and we are responsible for hosting the reherseal dinner. How? Our hearts are breaking as we go through this...we want our son's wedding to be the focus of this year not me or my cancer. The medical bills are just beginning to pile up and we just don't know how we will get through this challenge we are facing.
So we created this GoFundMe page (and swallowed all of our pride) in hopes that people will hear our story.
