Help family recover after house fire
Donation protected
My neighbor and friend Nicole, the director of Creative Hope Studio, recently suffered a fire in her apartment home beneath the art studio. Thankfully no one was injured, but Nicole and her parter Logan lost most of their belongings from smoke, heat, and fire damage. Nicole is in her first trimester of pregnancy, and does not have disposable funds to replace essential belongings damaged in the fire.
We are raising money to help cover the cost of:
-Kitchen equipment, pantry food, food storage containers: about $1500
-outdoor clothing, rain gear, and rain boots for two adults: about $1000
-all bedding, mattress: about $1500
-take out food and frozen food for a month for two adults (while kitchen is being repaired): about $1800
-toiletries, medications, vitamins, towels, bathmats for two adults: about $1000
-couch, table and chairs, work desks: about $1000
Nicole and Logan don’t own the building, and thankfully the landlord is covering structural repairs to the property. They will be able to fully move back into their apartment in the next few months. Unfortunately, because of the scope of the fire and the layout of the apartment (its basically one big room) they lost almost all of their belongings. Nicole is a full time grad student, and Logan teaches middle school students with special needs. With a baby on the way, this family was already strictly budgeting and needs community aid to help absorb the huge unexpected cost of the fire.
Thank you so much for your support of this little family!! If you can’t donate please share with your community, especially if you have enjoyed classes at Creative Hope or enjoyed attending art markets hosted in the studio space. Please share the campaign link on your facebook account, or the Instagram post (on the Black Rabbit account) in your stories.
