Fagans' Fighters!

Hi everyone! Our wonderful friend and colleague, Jennie Fagan, has been teaching at Nease for over 20 years. Her husband, Kevin, taught at Nease for nine years, then transferred to Bolles to teach, and is now back in SJCSD at Tocoi HS for the past two years.

Kevin started having stomach pain towards the end of 2021. After many tests, he went to the doctor and finally found himself in the gastroenterologist in February of 2022. At that time, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer because it had already spread to his liver. The doctors decided that an operation was not the best course of treatment because it had spread, so he started chemotherapy in March. After 12 rounds of chemo, his blood tests showed a diminished number of cancer cells; however, the scans showed that the tumors had grown. He started the second round of chemo in September. Until then, Kevin planned to continue working, but this new regimen was much more potent and harsher to his system. He officially went on FMLA on September 26, 2022, and has exhausted all his available sick days. Jennie has been able to give him some of hers, but they are rapidly running out of available days. Jennie is the only source of income they have, and surviving on a teacher's salary is a financial challenge, especially when so many medical expenses come your way. Please help us as a family to support the Fagans as much as possible so they can fight this battle without worrying about finances. Anything will help and is SO MUCH APPRECIATED!
