In Memory of Gabe

Hi, my name is Jasmine.

I met Gabriel when he was just 13 years old. He was this incredibly tall, lively, loud and rambunctious kiddo who had a booming voice and was obsessed with playing the guitar. He gave the adults in his life a run for their money. Gabe always had a comeback for EVERYTHING and refused to take any bs. He could talk himself out of any situation. He was slick, keen and intelligent. He marched to the beat of his own drum or in his case, he "strung along to the chords of his own song".

I am one of the very lucky ones. I always saw the very best in Gabriel and he was always set on showing me the best version of himself. Whereas he was quiet and reserved with others, he was talkative, wild and incredibly light with me. Gabe and I have always been bonded and I made sure that he knew that wherever life took him, I would be right there rooting for him, supporting him and that I'd always be in his corner. I knew that he was in mine as well. In all respects, Gabe was my little brother. I introduced him to everyone as just that, "my little, big, bro".

Gabriel loved fiercely and relentlessly. He was funny, light-hearted, kind, generous, forgiving and incredibly understanding. He never spoke a bad word about those he cared about and would defend them religiously. Gabriel had the biggest and most compassionate heart. He is one of the most resilient young men I have ever known. Gabe was happiest in the company of those he cared about including his select group of friends, his Grandma and his family. His spirit shined brightest when he was close to the ocean, outside, in Big Sur or on a hike- our favorite was Garrapata. Gabriel loved the beauty of this planet and fully immersed himself in experiencing what he could of it.

As you may know, Gabriel was in the hospital for the last couple of days and yesterday morning there were some complications. His medical team tried hard to do everything possible to revive him but unfortunately were unable to. Although Gabe remains with us in spirit, in our hearts and within the timeless memories we created with him, he is no longer with us.

On behalf of his family, I ask for any donations to help with costs related to his medical and funeral services and to support his family during this heartbreaking time.

Gabe is loved and will be missed tremendously.
