On Friday, 5 August 2022, Tanner had an accident while flying Powered Paragliders at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Fly-In. He suffered extreme burns from being electrocuted from powerlines during the crash. Tanner was flown to Rapid City, SD hospital on a life flight, then to Denver, Co where he is being treated at the Swedish Medical Center and is currently in the burns ICU.

Tanner has had multiple surgeries within the past week and had several fingers amputated from both hands. His body is covered with burns and has had skin grafts over the areas. The doctors are saying he will have another 6-8 weeks in Denver.

Tanner loves every second of life and is known for dropping everything to help a friend. The funds will go to his family to help with the medical bills.
