Hi, my name is Brianna Young and I work as a Program Director for an after-school program called Kids Count in Alachua County. We're located in Gainesville Florida and serve students  from Rawlings, Metcalfe, and Williams Elementary School. Our program has four main components: Literacy (reading tutoring), Social-Emotional Learning, Character Development, and Enrichment. We believe that when we combine all four elements, students are able to acquire the skills they need to not only succeed in school, but in life. I gained the privilege of working with this program 5 years ago and it's completely changed my life.  Our students are so full of potential. I've seen them persevere through the toughest situations. They confront their inabilities head on and prove to ALL OF US how amazing they truly are. I live my life to see them flourish and thats a big reason why I created this fundraiser. 

This fundraiser focuses on providing backpacks filled with school uniforms and supplies to each of our Kids Count students. The backpacks, pictured below, will be purchased from Blended Designs, a black owned business in Jacksonville Fl. This business works to empower students of color through their production of materials that offer a wide range of skin tones. Each item has a picture that could be representative of our students. Virtual Learning was difficult for the majority of our students and we want them entering this new school year believing that they can do anything!
