Hi! My name is Erika and I am fundraising to help keep my family afloat during this difficult time. On the morning of July 11th, a devastating fire almost destroyed our family-owned business, Jim's Burgers in Altadena, California. My daughter and nephew were working there the morning when this occurred. Luckily, they were able to get to safety and the quick response of the Fire and Police Department kept the restaurant from burning down completely. My father first began working at Jim's in the early 1980s as a cashier and in 2019 our family was able to become owners of Jim's Burgers. During this time our family has experienced challenges such as theft and vandalism in 2020 and the passing of one of our cooks in 2021 as well as the passing of my mother. However, the support of our customers in the community has helped to keep us going. Unfortunately, because this establishment is not a chain restaurant, each of our family members plays an important role in helping the restaurant run smoothly. And with Jim's being closed until it can be rebuilt, our family is finding itself in a very difficult financial situation. We would greatly appreciate the support of the community to help us get through these next few months until Jim's is back and running.
