Hi, my name is Yvette and I am raising funds for my dear sister Maria. A month ago Maria went to the ED complaining of shortness of breath and sharp lung pains. They did a CT scan and said she could have lung cancer but gave her antibiotics and treated it like pneumonia. She completely finished it and no changes she went to pulmonologist as recommended by ER and at that appointment was told she was fine and did not have any form of lung cancer only to end up back to ED 3 weeks later complaining of shortness of breath heart palpitations and ribs hurting. They diagnosed her with stage 4 lung cancer that now went to her ribs. Although with this type of cancer she did not know it could have been lingering for years without symptoms. No type of screening is available for this kind of cancer. Maria has never smoked in her life and lives a healthy lifestyle. She is in the fight of her life. She is staying positive along with her siblings and children and friends. Maria lost her son in a car accident in September then had COVID in October and has not felt good since. We are asking for funds because we would love to get her up to travel to Mayo clinic where they can treat her. It is an aggressive cancer and is moving quickly.

We need all the help we can get. She has her husband and children along with grandkids and siblings and friends all rooting for her and here to support however she has limited time and her insurance is not one she has worked with until this year. She is no longer able to work and in pain. I am hopeful we can get her into Mayo Clinic and start treatment.
