Dear friends and family,
It's me, Don, your record slinging buddy! As you all know, we are all falling on hard times with certain uncertainty as to when it will end. As weeks become months, a lot of small businesses like mine are suffering. We all are. I spent the last year and a half building out a shop, band, and events in hopes to bringing everyone together -- and with your support everything was going well. The shop was moving along well, the band was riding high, and the events were nothing short of stellar. The love and support was strong -- and very much appreciated. Then everything slammed to a halt when this nasty virus reared its ugly head. With a heavy heart, but in an effort to curb the spread, we closed our doors and cancelled all events and shows, which went into effect on March 19th, 2020.
I miss all of you family, friends, fellow band buds, and all the soon to be buds and customers.
As this crisis lingers on, funds are spent with very little coming in, it's only a matter of time before funds are all gone. I am a sole proprietor business with just over a year in the game. So, its not easy to get loans as I don't have much to put against one. Even the government loans are stringent -- and forget about unemployment. Trust me, I am working on every avenue for financial support that I can but nothing beats the support of your community. This isn't just my shop, my band, or my events -- it's all of ours. It's what we love, it's who we are, it's what we do. So, here I stand humbly before you like many others in this time of need. I don't want to go anywhere, I will not go anywhere -- and with your support, whatever it may be, small or large, we can keep this train rollin'.
I've created this funding goal to cover the cost of bills and basics to keep us from financial woe, while everything is put on hold. Anything outside of that is much appreciated, and will be used for the greater good of our future. If I find funding elsewhere, I will take this down immediately. Rest assured, I am also working on new avenues for the future of the shop. Nothing is guaranteed -- and I'd like to keep things based in the local community as much as I am able.
As a token of my utmost gratitude, I will be offering each and every one of you that donates, a gift card or a exclusive t-shirt which will be available as soon as we've been given the ok to open back up. When this is all over, I will throw us all the biggest, baddest party, and we will all celebrate on me 100%!! Things may change, but we will adapt and do what we can. We're just getting started. I look forward to the day we can give cheers to what we've all created together. Thank you brothers and sisters for your time.
