Gender Affirming Care

Hi, my name is Kristen. My precious child Carter who is 16 years old, was born a male. For the last few years, they have felt more and more like they were born into the wrong body. Depression and anxiety have been a close companion to Carter due to this. It has been challenging and heart breaking to watch Carter have to deal with this. Unfortunately, due to the political climate in Utah, Carter has been unable to receive any gender affirming care. Finally, some great news! This week we have an appointment in California for Carter to receive hormone blockers, to halt any further testosterone from changing their body. The difficult part for me (mom) is the financial aspect. It isn't like me to ask for help, but am I asking now.
