Please Help Our Family!

Dear friends and loved ones, once again we have very bad news to share with y'all. I have recently been to St. Luke's in Houston and thanks to a dear caring friend,  I've seen their referred legendary cardiologist who immediately ran a bevy of tests on me at the end of January 2019. Unfortunately, the test confirmed I have a dangerous and pending threat of an enlarged aortic,  otherwise technically called a Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm (SOVA) that needs to be repaired soon. With the recent loss of our health insurance coverage we are unfortunately up against the financial hardship wall.

After we lost everything and were displaced and relocated to central Texas to hurricane Harvey it has been so much of a struggle just to rebuild our lives back to a manageable state of existence. I am unable to work due to my ongoing medical issues and basically relying on the awesome generosity and kindness of others.

This is a humbling plea to please help us in our emergency GoFundMe fundraising efforts in order to raise these necessary funds and continue to help us through this difficult period.

At this critical time we are praying for all of our "Angels of Mercy" to please reach out and lend us helping hand by donating to our efforts today and help us reach this necessary fundraising amount.   Thank you all for your continued understanding and kindness to our family in our time of great need. Please help us in any way possible if you can and if you will please also continue to keep our family in your daily thoughts and prayers.

With an abundance of love and light from our family to yours.   MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS US ALL!

Background story:
This is for Steve Griffin and his family who were originally from West Houston (77084), our family was displaced over 2 years ago by Hurricane Harvey on Aug. 29th 2017,  and we are now living in Central Texas.   Our family needs these funds raised because I am no longer able to work or bring in enough income due to a serious heart condition recently diagnosed otherwise technically called a Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm (SOVA) that needs to be repaired soon.  The combination of the storm and my serious health condition has left us in a grave state of financial despair and each month we are facing an eviction if we can't come up with the monthly funds to pay our rent and utilities and most of all the mounting medical bills without being insured we are seriously going into a grave debt. Like many affected by Hurricane Harvey we had no flood insurance and lost our home of 13 years. We lived in a FEMA TSA hotel for 7 months until we could find a rental house so we are just reaching out to all our friends and family, some who have already donated to our fundraising efforts, not the general public for their understanding and kindness during this difficult situation we are unfortunately dealing with today.  Our family is the ultimate beneficiary of all these funds raised, again by ourselves, through this GoFundMe campaign which was initiated a few years ago.

When Harvey hit Bear Creek Village, a quiet and friendly neighborhood in northwest Houston, an estimated 1,500 homes flooded. Today, 400 houses there remain empty — for sale, for rent or abandoned. This WAPO story highlights our devastated community with two of our next door neighbors Josh & Kat (just like us with no flood insurance) and Connie who fortunately had flood insurance.  https://wapo.st/2P1z7to
