Family, friends, and kind strangers…..

Hello, my name is Christopher Butler. I am an employee at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) of 18 years. Recently, I suffered from some health issues and ended up on hemo dialysis. I am on a medical hold by WMATA, and no longer able to work in my current position because I am on Dialysis. Subsequently, this is forcing me to retire 9 years early. This situation has created a financial hardship for me. I am taking care of myself and my 16 year old daughter. Once my retirement and social security kick in, I will be ok. Until then, I am facing a struggle. Bills are starting to pile up. On the Wednesday November 23rd, I will receive my last paycheck. It is only for three days of pay. I have no more sick leave or vacation to supplement my earnings. Social security can take up to 6 months to start, and retirement a few months.

I usually don’t ask for help, but this time I am truly in need. Nothing is too small for someone who is about to have nothing. I am humble and greatful for any donation that is received. May God bless you for even taking the time for reading this. Thank you.
