Get Gabriel Home ❤

Donation protected
This is my son Gabriel, he is 15 months old. He was born at 30 weeks & 4 days. He has been in the hospital since birth (6/21/19) & has never been home. While I was pregnant I found out about his heart condition (tetralogy of fallot) being early didnt help much. He was admitted to the NICU right away. He had his first surgery at just 2 months old to fix a stomach blockage he had. He then trialed extubation (having his breathing tube taken out) but failed 12 hours later.. We had to wait for him to gain weight for his open heart surgery (10lbs) which was done January 8th, 2020. He did amazing with recovery. But shortly after that he had hs first life threatening GI bleed that was just the start of another problem. He had another one a month later. All while trying to have his breathing tube taken out. Being intubated for long periods of time can cause chronic lung disease. So I thought about a tracheostomy. & thought it was the best route to go to get him to a point where he's not confined to a bed. He had his trach placed May 4, 2020... we also found out he had tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) which is basically a hole connecting his airway & esophagus. That explains why he could never go without the tube. He was trached with the TEF, it caused alot of life threatening issues. He wasn't getting the volumes from the vent that he needed then causing his lungs & heart to work harder then they should. Doctors didn't think he would make it. They re-intubated him & he had his TEF repaied. It was a 6 week healing repair before he could have his trach placed again. July 20 he had his trach successfully placed. With a trach comes a minimum of 2 months worth of training, learning the vent, how to care for it, changing it out... & being trained for every type of emergency scenario. We are close to FINALLY going home. With all of Gabriel's equipment that he will come home with.. outlets in his room are not equipped to handle all his equipment. Before he can come home the outlets have to be replaced. Being out of work because Gabriel needs me then put the burden on my parents to find a way to pay for the work that needs done. Times are rough for them. We have estimates from $300 ‐$5,000. As much as i held off on doing this im just trying to help from a far as much as i can. All that we recieve will go towards the bill for the electrician. Anything left over will be put aside for Gabriel. If you've gotten this far thank you for reading a glimpse of his story. If anyone would like to help us out *I* personally would greatly appreciate it. Anything helps & im greatful for everyone that supports us!!! Thank you in advance to all who donate ❤❤
