Alma Rosa Ruiz: 05/15/1959 - 03/21/2024
Dear friends and family,
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Alma Ruiz, who passed away at 2:06pm on March 21st, 2024 surrounded by her children, daughter in law, son in law, sister, and niece.
A mother to Melissa, Ricardo, Matthew, Julian and Joevonne. A daughter to Eleuteria Ruiz. A sister to Oscar, Hector, Diana, and Olga. A grandma to Dailano, Zendayah, and Zenova. ❤️
Diagnosed with Heart Congestive Failure in May of 2022, this terrible disease took a toll on our mom’s health and saw her back in the hospital twice in 2023. In December of 2023, our mom was in a pretty bad state, and doctors were telling us to prepare for the worst, but our mom being the fighter she was got well enough and got herself out of the hospital with the support of her children and family who were by her side every single day. Unfortunately, we knew then leaving that her heart and her health really took a toll on her, and we were never certain just how much time we were going to have with her, but we were extremely grateful for the extra time we did have with her.
On March 19th of 2024, our mom was taken to the emergency room at Christ hospital as she was feeling unwell, and was quickly admitted to a room right away after being looked at. We were informed that our mom had an infection in her lungs, and was recommended to have surgery to remove the infection. On March 21st, 2024 our mom went into surgery in the early morning hours with the hope of everything going well. However, complications were soon apparent, and our mom was rushed back into surgery where doctors and nurses were doing everything possible to stabilize her condition, and unfortunately they were unable to and a decision had to be made. She had made us promise that should it ever come down to it, don’t let her be reliant on machines, and so our mom sadly passed away peacefully at 2:06pm March 21st, 2024 after being taken off life support. She was surrounded by her children Melissa, Matthew, Rick, Joevonne, daughter in law Fefe, son in law Nick, her sister Diana, and her niece Vanessa at the time of her passing.
We ask that she be remembered for the beautiful soul that she was. Family was everything to her. She would ask that you try not to be sad or upset as life was precious and there was so much to live for and to be happy and thankful for. ❤️
Our mom lived a good life and she never let anything get her down and just like a rose for which is a symbol of love, our mom had a lot of love to give. ❤️
And those closest to her would know that Alma Rose was truly one of a kind!
We love you, we miss you, we live for you! ❤️
Until we meet again.
