For those of you that know my cousin, Pete Seguin, you know he's a family man with a lovely wife and three growing sons. Pete was diagnosed with diabetes at a young age. Unfortunately, he has developed complications related to his condition. A few years ago, he got a stubborn infection in the bone of his foot that threatened his limb, but with multiple surgeries and antibiotics, the infection resolved. He managed to get back on his feet with some rehab and was eventually able to slowly go back to work with some limited capacity. Unfortunately, the infection returned, this time causing the bacteria to spread in his blood stream and damage his kidneys. As a result, he is now in kidney failure requiring dialysis and hopefully a kidney transplant someday. However, a month ago, another severe foot infection recurred, requiring more surgery to clean the bones and tissues of his foot. During recovery, he suffered a stroke affecting mobility of his right arm and his speech somewhat. The neurologist hopes that Pete's arm function and speech may recover once he is strong enough to go to rehab. Either way, it will be a long haul before Pete is able to get back on his feet, return to work, and alleviate some of the financial burden that his wife Carrie is facing trying to provide for the family on her own.
While Pete is in the hospital in Ottawa, Carrie is trying to manage life at home in Cornwall with the help of the grand parents and friends. She is travelling back and forth between Cornwall and Ottawa to be at Pete's side during his stay at the hospital in Ottawa, while also managing the busy schedule her boys have. The funds would be used to keep the household afloat while Carrie steps away from work, as well as cover the cost for travelling/lodging/ food needed when commuting between Ottawa and Cornwall. Your donation, in any amount, would be a nice gesture to really help them get through this difficult time together as a family.
Thank you for your kindness and your generosity! Please keep him in your thoughts!
