Dear friends and family,

I am writing to ask for your support for my sister-in-law/Sams's sister, Wanda. She is a single mom who has been struggling with multiple undiagnosed medical issues for almost two years. Wanda is the primary caregiver of a teenage son who does not drive yet, and she has been unable to work recently due to her health conditions.

Recently Wanda was diagnosed with the advanced stages of Systemic Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that is attacking her vital organs and has done irreparable damage to her esophagus and her lungs. She is currently on a feeding tube and requires oxygen full-time due to a collapsed lobe in her lung. Wanda is being aggressively treated for double pneumonia but due to long-term lack of nutrition and loss of muscle tissue, she is really struggling to regain strength. We know that she has a long hard road ahead of her but we are hopeful that with the help of medical staff and family support, she will get better and will be able to be with her son again soon!

Unfortunately, Wanda is currently living an hour away from any family in a second-story building with only staircase access and will be far too weak to access her apartment after her release according to her doctors. It is crucial that we get her closer to family so that she can have the support that she needs. However, she is behind on all of her bills and rent is due again on the first of March. The immediate family is doing all they can to help, but it is an overwhelming situation.

We are asking for anyone able and willing to come together and help support Wanda and her son during this unexpected and difficult time. Any donations will go directly towards helping Wanda access the medical care she needs, pay for medical bills, and move her and her son closer to family for the support she needs.
