For the past four years, Cindy has undergone many medical hardships; maybe more than most people have gone through in their entire life. It first began with an emergency hysterectomy, requiring blood transfusions due to the loss of blood from fibroids. Less than a year later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which resulted in a bilateral mastectomy. She has since then undergone 6 reconstruction surgeries due to multiple infections and her body simply rejecting the donor muscle and tissue. And just weeks ago, she underwent emergency surgery when a hernia strangulated her intestines and almost caused sepsis. She spent three days in ICU. On August 6th,  my mom had to go back to the E.R. where she was told that the reason she is still in so much pain is because the surgeon did a terrible job with the surgery. Along with putting her in great pain, the surgery disfigured her low abdomen - severely. So bad, that she was advised to see another doctor because they would definitely have to go back in and fix the first surgeons work.  Through all of this, she has maintained her positivity, her fighting spirit, and her dignity. Medical bills have been piling up, and since her last hospital stint, she was told she could not return to work for at least 6 weeks. She still has pending surgeries and the financial burden is weighing heavily. It's hard enough to have to watch her struggle with her health issues, but to also see her stressing on how she will pay it back is heartbreaking. She is not one to ask for help, but as her family, we are willing to do it on her behalf. If you could find it in your heart to help a woman who wouldn't hesitate to help someone else, and who has been through more than her fair share of trials and tribulations, we, her family, would be more appreciative than we could ever begin to express.
