Help Brian/Shane with medical costs
Donation protected
Brian/Shane Hetteen has had type 2 diabetes for a few years now. He is a carpenter by trade and lives in North Carolina but is a native of Roseau, Mn. Due to his diabetes his feet have had numbness for the past year or so. A few months ago while on a carpentry job he unknowingly stepped on a nail and never felt it. By the time he was aware it was there, infection had already set in. Since then he has been working very closely with doctors trying all kinds of treatments to help to save his foot. This week it became apparent that this was not to be. Two days ago the doctors removed a portion of his foot. Although they were able to save enough viable skin to create somewhat of a "skin flap" to help protect the bone and wound, it was still not quite enough. Therefore, his healing time has been extended to approximately 3 months. So, not only has he already been off of work for several months without any workmans comp or any other compensation, he is looking at several more months through the winter time with no income. Plus, his clinic/hospital costs and that for his medications is climbing. So we ask friends and family to please help him, if you are able, to financially get through this rough time without having to possibly lose his current housing due to his medical and after care expenses. He is an extremely proud man and wanted to try and figure this out on his own. But, we now know that is just not going to happen. It is way to out of scope at this time and he needs to focus on healing. He is still in the hospital and we dont have a date as of yet when he will get out but he will need to expense some sort of after care for a while. We thank each and every one of you in advance.
