Save Milo: Finding a Diagnosis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emily and my Fiancee's name is Matt. We are getting married on 9/7/24. Our sweetheart GSD Milo has recently undergone some serious undiagnosed health issues within the past two-three weeks and has progressively gotten worse. Milo turns one years old on 9/8/24, the day after our wedding! Milo is being referred to an internal medications specialist to now test for 1 of the 2 possible diagnoses. Chronic Enteropathy (IBD) or Food Intolerance/Allergy. Milo is currently being placed on "symptom based management" to save him time for a confirmed diagnosis from an internal medicine specialist to proceed with a treatment plan for recovery. Milo has tested Negative for abnormal pancreas enzyme levels and recently updated negative for any liver involvement with further testing acquired as of 8/20. Addison’s disease testing on 8/21 came back as negative. Next appt for further testing with Internal Medicine Specialist is to be scheduled tomorrow 8/22 for next steps in finding a diagnosis with estimation of $800-$2,000 endoscopy biopsy of intestine to confirm and/or rule out Chronic Enteropathy (IBD). Milo has reached his insurance coverage cap within the past two-three weeks in means of finding an answer with bloodwork, exploratory surgery, X-Rays from radiology, fecal samples, iv meds with in-house care, specialized consultations, medications and bland dieting. Milo's symptoms began with not being able to keep food down, vomiting bile, hematochezia (blood in stool), no appetite, excessive shedding, dry gums and fatigue. Symptoms have progressed now with an addition of hematemesis (vomiting blood) and drooling after vomiting/dry heaving. We ask that you please find a place in your heart to help fund our journey for a fast recovery. He has yet to begin his life as a new member in our household and with this new chapter in our life we would like him to be apart of it. Milo has brought so much joy and happiness to us. We will do everything we can to take care and advocate for him but the timing couldn't be any worse. Every small donation can help us. Please donate. Thank you and God bless you.
