Help family escape cycle of despair

Provide a home and stability for a displaced family! Earlest Brown, a single mother, and her four children - Adam (15), Marissa (11), Kayla (10), and Josiah (5) - have been living on friends’ couches and in weekly rate motels since February when they were forced to move out of their apartment, which was torn down to make way for a new development. The forced move out was a devastating blow for this family coming on the heels of a series of unfortunate events - house fire, theft of van, multiple job changes – that led to Earlest not having the start-up money needed to move into another home (Earlest’s story was featured in the Charlotte Observer ).
Earlest has a full-time job and the amazing support of her church members (as you can imagine, watching four children requires an army of support!). Let’s help Earlest stabilize her life and that of her four children by providing financial assistance so that she can move into suitable home.
We are asking to raise $3,100, which will help Earlest move into a 3 bedroom duplex close to her family’s church. $1,200 will go towards the security deposit, $700 towards buying furniture and $1,200 towards supporting Earlest pay rent for two years. Earlest will continue to pay $750/month (same as what she paid in her last apartment) and $50/month will come from this capital raise.
Raising this money will help Earlest and her children begin to return to a sense of long-term stability that has been lacking through the trials of the past two years!
