I'm trying to raise money since my husband, who is only 49, has kidney failure, does dialysis treatment three times a week and is sleeping all the time, since it takes away any and all energy he has. We have three children, that are all under 18 and I am my husband's care taker 24/7. He can not work but doesn't get disability since he used to be self employed. We don't own a house that I could pull any equity from. We rent only. My husband is on the list to receive a kidney since my blood type does not work with his. But the chances to receive a kidney is very slim and can take up to 8-10 years. We are running out of any savings we had and can not borrow any more money from friends and/or family. This situation is extremely frustrating and sad. My husband is a person who used to "run" on 150% energy level and now he is barely on 50%. He started doing a different kind of dialysis treatment at home but it did not really work for him and his toxin levels went so high that he had organ failure, where his stomach stopped working and he was only vomiting and had diarrhea for 2 months that ended him in the hospital. After he changed the dialysis treatment to "blood wash" treatment, his body slowly started to recover and his stomach function returned. That was a very scary time and left us extremely worried what the future will bring. Until we will find a donor that will match his blood type, B-, which is very rare, we have to try to survive and find a way to stay positive. Only B, B+, B- or O can qualify for a transplant and that is very difficult to find.
