Mia’s Medical Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Valerie I’m the Robertson’s friend and neighbor. I would love to help out the Robertson family in any way I can.
Most of you have been following along Mia’s journey since birth and know that there’s a lot of traveling for medical appointments and long stays at UC Davis for a lot of unknowns. I would love to give them one less thing to worry about, and that’s the stress of funds for traveling, medical bills and every day living. Amber quit her full time job to be able to be with Mia and take care of her needs. Id love to give them some peace while they figure out what exactly is going on with Mia.
In Ambers words this is their current update…
“So we met with a huge group of people at the mind institute today and to sum it up, Mia will be getting a G-tube as well as a liver, muscle AND skin biopsy. They are hoping to get it done within the next couple weeks, it’s mainly a bed shortage issue but as soon as we have all of the pieces aligned they will call us and we will come down. Kinda scared it might align with Christmas but we will deal with that if it comes. They explained that my gene is a known gene mutation of GSD 4 but Shane’s is unknown which means also unknown to Duke. They said that Duke is anxious to meet Mia as well as study her and her biopsy’s. Due to this being part known and part unknown in an already vastly rare genetic disease, they are not sure what future affects it may have or even current. We will be seeing the top doctor that studies GSD in the world at Duke and for that I am so grateful. After she is on a G-tube and in a better routine of that they said then we will discuss when to go.”
Every little bit helps, there’s no amount too small or too big! I know they appreciate all the help, love and support they’ve already received ❤️
