For my 50th birthday, I’ll be walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path in northern England—a 84-mile trail that follows the ancient Roman wall from coast to coast. It’s a journey that celebrates something I’m grateful for every day: the ability to move.
I’m dedicating this walk to our dear friend Ashley Rivera, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2019. Ashley was our son’s babysitter when he was five, and she’s been part of our lives ever since.
ALS is a devastating disease that takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, and live independently. Ashley continues to face it with incredible strength—but the financial burden is immense. Insurance covers the basics, but not the treatments, equipment, and care that can truly make a difference.
I’m asking for your help to give Ashley access to that care.
Every donation (though not tax-deductible)—no matter the size—will go toward critical support for our friend, from therapies to daily care. If you can’t give, sharing this page is just as meaningful.
Over the seven day journey, as Max and I walk each mile, we’ll be thinking of Ashley. We hope you’ll join us in supporting her.
Thank you.
