Uganda 2016

My name is Sydney Ramirez and for the past 9 years I have traveled to Uganda to work with Arise Africa International in many capacities. To name a few things, I have helped create a pastors sponsorship program to help pastors get paid a little bit so that they can help provide for their village, I have invested in 57 orphans lives to show them that someone loves them and cares about what happens to them,  and I have assisted in resettling orphans with family members.

I am 22, and graduated in December from the University of Texas with a degree in Social Work. Uganda is what gave me a passion for social work and the reason I got my degree in the field. This summer I have the opportunity to go back to Uganda for a few weeks to use my social work skills to check on some orphans I assisted in resettling last year, encourage and love on long term missionaries who live in Uganda and work for Arise Africa, and help meet tangible needs of Ugandan pastors and employees at Arise.

Over the past 9 years I have developed really strong relationships with several Ugandans, and am so excited to get to go back and contiune to strengthen those relationships. In order to accomplish all that I want to accomplish while I am there, bring supplies needed at the Arise Africa Babies Home and primary school as well as things needed by long term missionaries living in Uganda, and have money to help meet needs as they present themselves while I am there, I need to raise $4500. Typically I like to begin fundraising much earlier than I have this year, however my plans for traveling to Uganda this summer have just recently been confirmed. With this being said, I need to raise the money pretty quickly. I plan to leave in just over a month!

Any contriubution to this trip will not only allow me to physically go to Uganda,  but it will alow you the opportunity to be a part of a beautiful partnership between me and the Ugandan people that has been successfully taking place for 9 years. I was called to love and help Ugandans at the young age of 14, and that calling cannot be fufilled without an amazing army behind me to help support me emotionally, spiritually, and financially. I am so thankful in advance for whatever you can give!
