Hi everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to click on our GoFundMe for Apollo. We appreciate you taking the time to read our story. Apollo is my boyfriend, Mark, & I's dog. He is an American Bully, and will be two years old at the end of April.
On January 10th, Apollo vomited blood. I immediately took him to the Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic. After being assessed by the doctor, Apollo was given an anti-nausea injection and sent home with two medications. The hope was that the medication would help his stomach and that he would improve.
That evening and leading into January 11th, Apollo was very restless. He would not lie down. He was having muscle tremors, and he would not eat. Around 4:00 pm on the 11th I decided to take him for a short walk to see if this would perk him up. About 10 minutes into our walk Apollo passed more blood. Mark and I took him again back to the emergency clinic.
After bloodwork and x-rays, the vet found a small foreign body in Apollo's stomach and could see that his intestines were very inflamed. It was recommended that Apollo stays at the clinic overnight to receive fluids to try to move things along. The vet would then repeat x-rays around 11:00 pm to check if Apollo had improved.
Around 12:30 am on January 12th, we received a call that Apollo had not improved. The vet's next recommendation was to go into surgery, as he feared that there may be a blockage.
If you have or have had a pet, you know how quickly vet bills accumulate. You will also understand, then, that in these circumstances you would pay whatever you need to to make sure your pet is okay. Apollo is Mark & I's first dog together - he is such a light in our lives and is loved by our friends and family very much.
If you are able to donate to help us with paying for Apollo's surgery, thank you. If you are able to share our link, thank you. We appreciate you very much. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
