My name is Denise, and today I’m doing something my best friend, Lauren, would never do for herself — I’m asking for help.
Lauren is the strongest, most selfless person I know. A single mother of three incredible boys, she has carried more than any one mother should ever have to carry. And through it all, she continues to show up with love, patience, and resilience that inspires everyone around her.
As many of you know, her boys are her entire world. And anyone who knows her also knows she has always been open about Noah’s medical journey — not for sympathy, but to raise awareness for rare diseases, to help other families who may face similar challenges, and to remind others not to lose faith or hope even in the hardest moments. She shares their story to educate, to connect, and to support those walking similar paths, even when she receives few answers herself.
Noah’s Journey
Her youngest son, Noah, has faced complex medical challenges since infancy. When he was just six months old, he experienced a severe episode of respiratory distress that led to his first ICU stay. From that moment on, hospitals, doctors, and specialists became a regular part of his childhood.
Throughout the years, Noah has endured:
multiple surgeries
repeated illnesses
multiple ICU admissions
long hospitalizations
intensive treatments
countless medical evaluations
He lives with two rare genetic conditions that affect both his lungs and his immune system. These conditions bring chronic infections, serious respiratory complications, repeated hospitalizations, and limited treatment options — and they have shaped nearly every part of Noah’s life.
On the outside, Noah is a beautiful, bright little boy — and many people only see how sweet and full of life he looks. What they don’t see is what is happening inside his body: the impact these rare genetic conditions have on his cells, his lungs, and his immune system. So much of his battle is invisible, and that can be one of the hardest parts for his mother — knowing how much he carries that the world will never notice just by looking at him.
Despite everything, Noah remains one of the brightest, funniest, sweetest little boys you could ever meet. He has also made remarkable progress while navigating autism, and his determination inspires everyone who knows him.
A Difficult Prognosis
When Noah was first diagnosed, his mother was given a heartbreaking projected age range for his life expectancy — something no parent should ever have to hear.
And yet, she continued to advocate, fight, and push for answers — never once giving up hope for her son.
A New Hope
There is finally a reason to hope: Noah has been accepted into a specialized medical study that may help stabilize his health and support his body in ways current treatments cannot. I am choosing not to share the private details of the study out of respect for their family’s privacy, but what I can say is that it represents a meaningful step forward for his future. Participating will require significant time, coordination, and resources, placing added pressure on a mother already carrying so much.
Why I'm Asking for Help
As a single mother of three, she carries so much on her own — quietly managing Noah’s complex medical needs, every appointment, every setback, and every unexpected challenge, all while doing everything she can to keep her children safe and supported
She did not ask for this. I am doing this on my own, because I know she would never ask for help — even when she desperately needs it.
How Your Support Helps
These funds will support the entire family as they move through this demanding time—helping with Noah’s care, with the needs of his two brothers, and with the many responsibilities that fall on a mother raising three boys on her own. Your generosity provides stability, relief, and room to breathe during a time when so much of their world is unpredictable.
Even after this medical study, Noah’s journey will continue. He will still face flare-ups, hospital visits, and unpredictable illnesses that require his mother to miss work and reorganize life around his needs. Your support doesn’t just help with this opportunity — it helps stabilize their family for the ongoing care Noah will always require.
Even sharing this page makes a meaningful difference.
A Final Word
Noah has fought every step of the way with courage far beyond his years. His mother has fought right beside him with love, strength, and determination that never wavers.
This next chapter brings both hope and hardship — and it’s one they shouldn’t have to face on their own.
Thank you for taking the time to read their story. Thank you for supporting them in any way you can. Your kindness means more than you will ever know.
Let’s rally around an amazing mother who has never stopped fighting for her son — and show her the same strength, love, and support she gives to everyone around her.
