Help Kayla Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Friends,
On behalf of the team at Gaffney Outlet Marketplace, we are putting together a fundraiser to assist our housekeeper at Gaffney Outlet Marketplace. Kayla lost her home in Hurricane Helene. She lived in the house with her two school-age children and her mother. During the storm, the large tree surrounding her lot fell, trapping her and her kids inside until Saturday morning. The damage is extensive, and the home is not habitable any longer. The roof and floor are sagging, the carpets are soaked, and now mold is setting in.
Kayla has been with us for several years in Gaffney, first as a security guard and then joined the Simon team as our housekeeper. She is reliable and works hard for her children. Kayla even showed up to her shift on Sunday.
We've made attempts to get her hotel rooms, but there is nothing in Gaffney, and unfortunately, her car was damaged by the falling trees as well. She can't travel to other areas for housing. She's applied to FEMA for emergency relief, but that will take time. Right now, she is staying in the conference room at Gaffney.
We hope you will consider helping her pull together enough money to get an apartment. She needs a security deposit, first and last month's rent. Every penny will help take this burden off her shoulders. Thank you for your generosity, and please keep Kayla and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.
