Hi, My name is Carolyn and my Great Grandson Liam needs help. He was born with a rare congenital defect called Pierre Robin Sequence. He has a cleft palette and receding chin that makes breathing very difficult. Feeding is also a problem so breastfeeding is out of the question and expensive formula is needed. His Mom and Dad are hardworking young people and this is their second child. It takes both of them working to be able to live. Having a handicapped child makes it almost impossible. Apparently she can apply to get handicapped status for him but it would cost $200 just to get the Doctor to do the paperwork involved. He is now being sent home from hospital with Oxygen and home care that they are going to have to pay for. They are very proud and did not want me to ask for help - but we all need help at some point so I am asking anyway. We are all trying to help in any way we can but this is more than we can handle.
