What happened to Lucky?
The main artery that supplies blood to his heart and brain got wrapped around his small intestine. When he got to OSU 10' of intestine had died. By the time they could get to where the tangle was, 15' had died. Their concern at that point was not the intestines but that the vessel was so tight there was great risk that the vet could nick the vessel and he would bleed to death.
If the surgery was a success there was no guarantee he would not relapse. The stay would be 1 week and he would require around the clock monitoring for a few months if not more. Recovery would be horrific and he would never have quality of life.
So at 3am the surgeon informed us there's no way to release the vessel without nicking the main artery. With that, we were forced to make the heart wrenching decision to send Lucky off to heaven to be with his mom, Bridget.
Any contribution, even if only $1, will help pay for my horse Lucky vet bill and for my other girl horse Bailey to be bred to Luckys dad. It would help heal my heart to make this all come true.
The OSU bill plus cremation is $5,100. Luckys daddy fee is $1,000 plus transportation to and from Texas. We have to transport to Texas because his daddy is older and AI may not last or hold up due to his age.
