Support Yvonne's Family in Their Time of Loss
On February 13th, 2025, Yvonne, known to many as Vonnie, departed from her earthly vessel. Yvonne's sudden illness, caused by a bowel obstruction that led to septic shock, took her and her family by surprise. She fought and tried so hard to recover, but unfortunately, her body was unable to tolerate the dialysis she needed to survive. After 34 days in the hospital, she left this world, surrounded by her loving family, both biological and found.
Vonnie leaves behind her everything, her children and grandchildren. If you knew Vonnie, you would know that she was a devoted mother, kind, full of love and acceptance. She became a surrogate mother to many lost children. This family relies on each other in order to survive, and they are now facing the loss of not only their mother and grandmother but also her income. There are no savings for final expenses, as the family lives on fixed incomes.
We are asking for donations for final expenses (cremation and urn, as well as saving for a celebration of life), and to help cover the loss of her income while her family works to sort their finances out.The last thing that Yvonne would want is for her family to not be able to keep the lights on during their time of grief. Aubrie (daughter) is attending college full-time for sociology, and Vincent (son) receives a small income from SSI while taking care of his own end-stage kidney failure, neither of which covers much financially.
All donations will cover final expenses and household expenses. The family would prefer donations over flowers. Please be patient as this family grieves their special and amazing matriarch, and while they plan the memorial. Both of Yvonne's children are chronically ill, which can make planning take a little longer. The family wants to give their mother the beautiful send-off she deserves without being rushed.
When the time comes, Vonnie will have a wonderful celebration somewhere in nature, her favorite place to be, and all will be welcome to attend. Please save this GoFundMe for updates or changes. When you donate please feel free to leave a memory of Yvonne, or any other words you might want to share.
