Let me introduce you to my mother, Sue. She is an 83-year-old retired dispatcher and office manager at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. She went to high school at Elmhurst. She is dealing with a lot of health issues where she requires someone to help take care of her around the clock. Most of the health issues have gotten worse since she caught COVID-19. She is dealing with undiagnosed dementia, COPD, irregular heartbeat, blood pressure issues, sleep issues, and mental health issues. I am her son, Tim, and I live with her and help take care of her full-time.
We had some banking issues along with the cost of blood thinner medication and breathing treatments for her COPD that caused us not to be able to pay rent on time. Here at the apartment complex, they give you until the 10th to pay or they file eviction, and that is what they did. We have been here at this complex for 20 years and they wouldn't work with us at all. They are allowing us to pay the past due and still continue to stay at the apartment complex, and they will throw out the eviction. So I am asking the community for help.
I want to mention that we have been to the trustee and have called other local places for help, but we do not qualify because we are over the income level.
This has put a lot of stress on my mother and there is no way she could go through a move and especially an eviction.
Thanks for those who donated. Rent has been paid and everything else taken care of. Eviction has been thrown out. Everything has been taken care of thanks to help from the community.
